More House Republicans Back the IRA
On March 9, Rep. Andrew Garbarino and 20 other House Republicans sent a letter to Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith urging him to exercise restraint when weighing cuts to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This is Rep. Garbarino’s second letter in support of the IRA. We covered the 14 signatories of the first letter in our January edition.
In this issue, we’re analyzing the text of the letter and going deep on the 7 new signatories: the IRA-backed investments in their districts, their committees of jurisdiction, and their policy priorities, to help inform our understanding of which tax credits they support.

The IRA Tax Credits that Matter Most to Republicans
We’re profiling 18 House Republicans to help you understand which IRA tax credits they may defend from the chopping block. We dig into the investments in their districts, the legislation they’ve supported in the past, and their committees and caucuses.
We’re also covering the Joint Committee on Taxation’s updated IRA scores, U.S.-China graphite trade tensions, and IRA Section 48 Final Regs.
And of course we’re bringing you a comprehensive rundown of government financing and opportunities for the clean tech sector. In December the government awarded $57.5 billion and announced $3.9 billion of new funding opportunities!

Talking Clean Tech to Republicans
This month we’re helping you make sense of what November’s election means for clean tech policy, the future of the IRA tax credits, and how clean tech companies and investors can message effectively to Republicans. Taking questions and helping us make sense of it all is Shane Skelton, Co-Founder and Partner at Mission Strategies, and climate and energy whisperer to influential Congressional Republicans.
We’re also bringing you a special update on all the major clean tech policy news from the lame duck and of course, a comprehensive run down on all the government funding awards and opportunities!
